According to a Japanese proverb, the first day of year is perfect to scheduling the year. When I listed goals I’d like to fulfill in this year, I also listed tea events scheduled in 2019 to join to, learn and get insights from these events.
I’d like to share the events as follows. It is my great pleasure if these information could help you to plan to join the events.
2019.01.12 Event Business Matching for Tea Pairing at Ecole Tsuji in Osaka
This event will provide us with some seminars about tea pairing presented by tea/ culinary professionals and a great opportunity for networking among participants including presenters and panels, as posted before.
- Date : 12:00 – 15:45 on 12th January, 2019.
- Venue : Tsuji Culinary Institute in Osaka so-called “Ecole Tsuji”
- Address : 3-16-3, Matsuzakicho, Abeno ward, Osaka city, Osaka prefecture.
- Access : It takes approx. 10 minutes on foot from the south gate of Tennoji Station on JR line or Midosuji subway line. (See the access information on the website of Tsuji Culinary Institute.)

2019.01.13 Experience of Hand-Rolling Sencha in Tea Museum, Shizuoka
Fujinokuni Tea Museum, Shizuoka holds a series of tea-related event for visitors and various business persons. This event will be conducted for visitors and those who are interested in Japanese teas.
- Data : Every 30 minutes session from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00, on 13th January
- Venue : Tea shop in the Tea Museum, Shizuoka.

2019.02.10 Talk Show about Tea Origin in Tea Museum, Shizuoka
The director of Tea Museum Shizuoka, Prof. Kumakura and Dr. Matsushita will provide visitors with the talk show about the origin of tea based on a series of research conducted by Dr. Matsushita.

2019.02.23 – 24 Foods and Flowers Festival in Shizuoka in Plaza Verde in Numazu
In this event, various farmers in Shizuoka prefecture will exhibit and sell their specilty agricultural products, incruding a wide variety of flowers. Scenes of the previous event is reported on the past post.
- Date : 10:00 – 16:00 on 23rd and 24th February
- Venue : Plaza Verde
- Access : 3 minutes’ walk to the east direction (direction to Tokyo along JR Line) from the north entrance of JR Numazu Station. The access guidance of Plaza Verde is helpful.

2019.03.17 Contest for Gyokuro Steeping in Fujieda Tea Estate
Fujieda city will host the annual contest for Gyokuro steeping in this year. Tea professionals and tea lovers from all Japan will compete each other for the best Gyokuro infusion.
- Date : 12:00 -15:30 (Registration will start from 11:00 A.M.) on 17th March
- Venue : BiVi can in the ground floor of BiVi Fujieda building.
- Address : 1-7-10, Maejima, Fujieda city, Shizuoka prefecture, Japan
- Access : It takes 5 minutes’ walk from the south gate of JR Fujieda station.
- Fee : 1,000 yen. We should pay 1,000 yen at the entrance of the venue.
- Registration : It is required to send the application by FAX to the FAX number described on the official webpage. The application form is uploaded on the official website. We can send the application form after writing necessary information on it.
2019.05.10 – 12 World O-CHA(Tea) Festival in Tea Museum, Shizuoka
Shizuoka prefecture had held World O-CHA(Tea) Festival every 3 years.since 2001. The spring session of World O-CHA(Tea) Festival focuses on the senses of specialty teas, production from tea farms to final procesing by tea blenders and tea tourism. 2019.05.xx Ceremony of Honyama Tea Sealing for Maturation
Now tea businesses related to Honyama tea estate are planning to hold this event. The datewill be fixed on the middle of May because the organizers can arrange the event after the finishing of first flush and the event depends on the circumstance of tea production year by year. I’d like to upload the detail on the event page immediately after I’ll get the information about the ceremony
2019.07.03 – 05 International Tea Show in Pacifico Yokohama
International Tea Show has held annually since 2016 for networking among various businesses and tea businesses. The scenes in the past event are posted before.

2019.11.07 – 10 World Tea (O-Cha) Festival Autumn Session in GRANSHIP
The autumn session of World O-CHA(Tea) Festival focuses on tea researches, technologies and culture in terms of science.

2019.11.27 – 29 JAPAN’S FOOD EXPORT FAIR in Makuhari Messe, Chiba
JAPAN’S FOOD EXPORT FAIR has provided exhibitors and visitors with a great opportunity to exchange information, trade each other directly since 2017. I hope my report could help those who are planning to join the event.

2019.12.xx Tokyo Tea Party as the final selection for Japanese Tea Award
The Association of Japanese Tea Instructor is planning to hold a series of events for Japanese Tea Award. There are posts for the overviews in past times, 2017 and 2018.
