Great Landscapes Viewed from Nihondaira Yume Terrace

Nihondaira Yume Terrace has been newly opened since this November on the peak of Nihondaira, where is famous for the fantastic all-around landscapes.

The landscapes from the terrace are great!! The night views are mysterious and fantastic! Especially under the full moon, we can look the moon light reflected on Suruga Bay.

Double full moons separated by the illumed clouds on the night sky. The full moon reflected on the surface of Suruga bay changes its shape with the movement of clouds and moon. This ephemerality expresses “Sabi” elegance.

We can look the full moon illumes and shapes the line of Izu peninsula. If the clouds doesn’t prevent, we could see the special Mt. Fuji illumed by full moon. On day time, Mt. Fuji expresses its sacred shape.

Nihondaira Yume Terrace itself is also very fantastic. The color and reflected light on the building looks like worm cream due to the natural woods grown on the mountains in Shizuoka prefecture.

Visitors enjoy seeing the landscapes on the deck on 3rd floor. In the cafe on 2nd floor, we can enjoy landscapes with cups of specialty teas.

Nihondaira peak is originally popular spot for the landscapes of Mt. Fuji at daytime and the illuminated city along Suruga Bay at night.

The cafe in “Nihondaira Yume Terrace” served teas using the dripping apparatus for each order.

There are 3 types of Japanese tea, a special Sencha produced in Nihondaira tea estate, Hojicha and aromatic Sencha “La Koju” using the unique cultivar ‘Koju’.

A menu of the cafe.

The woman drawn on the menu is Tennyo, a mythical character described in the legend “Amano Hagoromo”. The story is still performed as Noh play “Hagoromo“. The detail is explained on the displays in the mini-museum in the terrace.

The description explains the mythical Noh play of Tennin landed on Miho Matsubara with Hagoromo.
