According to some web-shops, matcha products are recommended as merry gifts, such as matcha nama chocolate, matcha set etc. Not only commercially available matcha products, homemade matcha sweets are also perfect to merry gifts.
Today I’d like to share a recipe of matcha sweets made in home easily.
1. Matcha tart of 3 colors layered
Matcha is one of natural additives using for coloring confections. Mixing matcha with pancake dough provides a bright green color. Merry sweets often have green color as a representative of Christmas color. Matcha is perfect to X’mas color additive!
The ingredients for matcha tart are as follows.
- A pack of hotcake mixture
- An egg
- 100ml of milk
- 1 small spoon of matcha
- Tarts
- Pumpkin
- Chocolate (black and white)
- Toppings as you like
Matcha can be mixed with pancake dough easily.
Heating pumpkins using a microwave oven.
Mashing pumpkin to paste.
Putting each ingredients as depicted below.
Topping something as we like. I used slices of apple soaked in ‘Sunrouge’ syrup, local specialty sesame “Shizuka” produced by a tea farmer in Makinohara upland, and raisin.
Then let’s bake! Before baking, it is recommended to heat for approx. 40 seconds at 500W by a microwave oven.
And then let’s enjoy eating!
Cross sections of them are as follows.
2. Matcha chocolate fondu
This is an easy recipe. Just heating white chocolate, mixing matcha and soaking something, such as marshmallow, cracker, dried fruits etc.
3. Matcha sour cream
This is also easy. Just mixing matcha with sour cream and pasting it onto crackers. Let’s enjoy choosing some ingredients for toppings. I’d like to recommend dried tomato, dried fruits and dukkah made from sesame and fried flakes of skipjack tuna.
Hopefully may matcha sweets contribute to happy christmas!
