Lootin’ Tootin’ Shizuoka Marche

Shizuoka local food Marche has been going on at 7th floor of Seibu Ikebukuro. The venue was full of visitors! Most of companies serves their products as tasting. Fantastic products are sold, of course including teas.

The shape of loose leaf tea is tin and needle-like, characteristic to light steamed Sencha made in Kawane Tea Estate.

Mr. Sakamoto said they sells medium steamed one in Tokyo according to the tongue of people in Tokyo.

Kawane tea estate has various confection companies and most of them create unique confections using Kawane tea. Kawane Anjinosato is one of the confection stores in Kawane tea estate, which is managed by a tea factory “Kawane-Cha Yamaguchi-en“. Kawane Ajinosato demonstrated manju making at the venue.

They make “Cha manju” containing local products, marron and sweet potato. Cha manju means manju bread containing tea powder. These Cha manju have various “an” paste of red beans, marron, sweet potato and green tea, as shown in the picture above.

We can enjoy looking the demonstration of making Cha manju.

Ishida Chaya sells their loose leaf tea in a scale of “masu”. Visitors can enjoy packing the tea by themselves and challenging push teas as much as possible.

This yummy tomato I want to eat with beer or wine as aperitif! Red orthodox tomato is also good and fresh sweet. I’d like to top it on cracker pasted matcha cream. Its freshness and sweetness would match to matcha richness.

In the event, we can eat the products in the venue with local beers and sake. There are many local foods perfect to liquors, for example Mishima croquette, wieners made by Tonkii, Shirasu pizza roll, Tororo-jiru etc.

Mishima coroquette is a certified local food, which made from may queen potato cultivated in farmlands in Mishima city. Mishima potato of ‘may queen’ cultivar is produced by three procedures; hand harvest, drying under sunshine and air drying. These procedures mature the potato mellow and creamy.

Tonkii is a pig farming company in Hamamatsu city in Shizuoka pref. In Shizuoka pref., the company is famous for its flavorful pork meats and products.
