Tea Plantations viewed from Tomei Highway

If you are planning to travel Japan, there are many ways to visit Shizuoka prefecture.
From Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya. Of course, you can come to Shizuoka directly by using Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport.

As a candidate of for transportation to Shizuoka from other prefectures, highway buses are available.

Shizuoka has one highway so-called as “Tomei Highway”. So highway buses from Tokyo or Kyoto will go through Tomei highway.

In this season, we can see nice views of tea plantations from the seats of highway bus.

In addition, the highway has many unique rest areas.

On the way to Makinohara from west side such as Kyoto, Chubu Centrair International Airport etc., the rest area of Hamanako-lake is famous.
In the rest area of Hamanako-lake, we can enjoy the nice views of Hamanako-lake as follows.

This area, so-called Mikkabi, is famous as the estate of mandarin orange. So the rest area has many shops selling mandarin orange.

Of course, there are many souvenirs using Japanese green teas as a tea estate.

On the way to Makinohara from east side such as Tokyo, Yokohama etc., the highway express bus often makes a briedf stop at the rest area of Nihonzaka.
The rest area of Nihonzaka has a unique statue of skipjack tuna as below picture.
