Colors of Agricultural Artifacts in Shizuoka

Agricultural Artifacts Festival in Food-Capital of Japan was held on 20th Feb., in Twinmesse Shizuoka. Multihued agricultural artifacts created colorful scenes.

04 KanehachiKiriyamaEnIn this booth, Kanehachi Kiriyama-en tea farm provided their teas.

06 KawaneTea farmers from Kawane distinct also served their teas.
As we see in the picture, Kawane is very nice place and full of beautiful tea gardens. Steam locomotives runs along with Ooi river. From the train, we can enjoy wonderful views of wealth of nature.

 

06 HasegawaSupportMr. Hasegawa, the owner of Hasegawa Seicha tea factory, supported the management of this booth. He explained features of each tea for participants.

 

07 TemomiIn the other booth, mastercraftsmans demonstrated the traditional technique of hand-processing tea “Temomi”. Misters of hand-roll technique in Shizuoka prefecture organize “Temomi Preservation Association” to share the traditional manners with the next generations.

 

08 MaruiItoSeichaMr. Ito, the owner of Marui Ito Seicha tea factory, sold their teas of fine quality and his wife served teas for visitors.

 

09 WachaClubMany tea merchants joined this exposition. Wacha Club, the domestic online retail section of Kanes, served their tea and sweets. Two types of tea ganache were exhibited. One contained green tea, and another one contained roasted green tea. Two of them were so delicious.
Shizuoka has a variety of agricultural products. Sake is also one of the most important products.

Local sake so-called “Jizake” has specific flavor due to the local specialty such as soil of paddy field, cultivar of rice, manners of rice cultivation, brewage technique etc. We can feel terroir in each sake, as well as teas.
10 LocalSake

A professional, Mr. Miyake, joined to introduce specialty of each sake. He has created the cultivar “Homare Fuji”, that is one of the best rice for sake brewage. Lately, “Homare Fuji” are used for various sakes brewing.

JA Shizuoka group (Shizuoka Prefectural Economic Federation of Agriculture Cooperative) organizes local farmers’ markets in each area.

In this booth, we can buy various agricultural products from each distinct. In addition, child staffs welcome visitors.

 

We could enjoy attractive flowers decorations! The view was occupied with nice colors of various flowers.
