The president of this factory is a grate businessman who is at once a farmer and a tradesman. On the tea farm, he brings enormous passion to cultivation of tea plant, besides at retail events his passion as a tradesman attracts many visitors, resulting many of them purchase his loose leaf tea. Of course, the reason why people buy his loose leaf tea is because of not only his passion but also the quality of his tea items.
Based on his experience, most of visitors tasting his loose leaf tea took a fancy to “Tsuyuhikari” and “Okumidori” (“Tsuyuhikari” and “Okkumidori” are name of species of tea plant). Especially, the quality of Tsuyuhikari produced in 2015 is so nice, even second flush of it is very delicious. In fact, nitrogen content of second flush of Tsuyuhikari was above 6%, although average content is under 5%, which is one of the main index of taste. The author of this website was also surprised with sweetness and higher umami of the second flush. And “Okumidori” is one of the most marketable species lately due to sweetness and bright green color of its infusion. In addition of such features, his loose leaf tea “Okumidori” gains popularity because of its extraction potential, which means we can enjoy enough taste in 3rd or 4th brewing. In my opinion, extraction potential of loose leaf tea depends on the activity of tea shoots, implying cultivation technique of Hasegawa-san is very prominent!
We can purchase his tea products at retail events in urban department stores, mainly held in Kansai area (Osaka, Kobe etc.) and Kanto area (Tokyo, Kanagawa). If you are interested in such events, it would be grateful you would refer to the page of “Events” in this website. I hope you would enjoy communication with Hasegawa-san at such events and tasting his nice tea.
