Kawasaki Kiko Co., Ltd. is one of the tea machinery companies in Japan. This company has developed various tea machineries since 1905, as a result, Kawasaki Kiko has supported various tea businesses such as tea farmers, tea processors, tea blenders, tea merchants etc.
This tea machinery company has cooperated with many tea businesses for further development in tea industry. As posted before, the rotating drum for tea withering was constructed by the cooperation of Kawasaki Kiko NARO(National Agriculturre and food Research Organization in Japan) and the Division of Tea Research in Miyazaki Agricultural Research Institute.
As for the machines for cultivation, this company developed a new equipment for covering tea canopy with textile for shading tea plants, based on the cooperative work with Shizuoka Prefectural Tea Research Center and NARO. This unique attachment can be equipped with tea plucking vehicle, resulting in simultaneous operation of taking the cover up and plucking.

On this weekend 26th and 27th October, Kawasaki Kiko will hold “Festa Kawasaki” to exhibit these new technologies and general tea processing machines, such as machines for tea rolling and drying. In addition to tea machineries, they will exhibit and serve special oolong and black teas made by using their machines such as the rotating drum for tea withering. Their oolong and black teas are elected as Japanese Tea Awards 2018 as well as last year.
