In these 3 days, rain continuously falls onto soil, as if rain blesses the tea plantation. In Shizuoka prefecture, there are little rain for a month, resulting in a severe dry condition. Besides, the temperature gains higher for tea plants enough to re-start photosynthesize. Thus the substantial rainfall in these days could provide tea plants a sufficient water.
As closing spring, various flowers begin to bloom. Now it is best to see blossoms of Ume plum, of course in Shizuoka prefecture.
JA-Hainan and Makinohara city annually hold a local tea festival for first flush. The festival will be held on 17th March in this year.
The festival will provide an experience of hand plucking in a greenhouse on tea plantation.
And then the picked tea shoots will be hand-processed by some tea masters.
A lucky visitor can try to hand-make loose leaf tea.
The earlier first flush let us feel the spring flavor.
