Tokyo has many tea shops due to the huge tea consumption. Of course, various teas from Shizuoka are used in those shops.
In Tokyo, there are many tea shops I’m eager to visit.
Today, I’d like to introduce one of them, “Mt. Fuji Green Tea Plaza” on the first basement floor in Tokyo Kohtsu Kaikan.
Mt. Fuji Green Tea Plaza provides various green teas produced in each tea estate in Shizuoka.
There are three menu.
(1) green tea
(2) a pair of green tea and confection
(3) green tea ice-cream.
We can choose a kind of tea from 3 or 4 choices, which the staff selects everyday from 20 kinds. The choice is displays like below, allowing us to test the aroma of loose leaf tea and check their shape.
Yesterday, I choosed “Fujieda Kaori”. Fujieda Kaori, produced in Fujieda region as indicated by its name, has a characteristic flagrance like flower.
In addition, we can also choose a confection from three choices. Yesterday, I tried “MARIFUKU“, cold DAIFUKU containing sweet soybean paste and matcha cream. This sweet stuff is produced by “Gasho-an” as posted in the past.
In the shop, green teas from each tea estate in Shizuoka prefecture are exhibited on the wall.
Tokyo Kohtsu Kaikan is located in front of Yurakucho station of JR line.
If you visit Tokyo, it is recommended to break your journey in the Yurakucho and have a break with excellent green teas in “Mt. Fuji Green Tea Plaza”.
