Ishidatami Chaya is one of the most well-established café restaurants, where a local nice tea is served, in Szhiuoka.
This café serves local black tea made by tea farmers in Kanaya region, where is north area of Makinohara upland. This café introduced Mr. Imura of IMURAEN and Mr. Murata of Chakura supply as special suppliers of black tea.
The luscious black tea with fancy sweets and excellent atmosphere of the café could captivate us.
In addition, this café has other attractiveness factors.
Delicious and fancy plates using local foods. There are some unique sweets using Shizuoka green tea, Yuzu mandarin orange etc.
Traditional wooden folk house providing serene atmosphere.
Landscape is also good. Peaceful folk houses, forest and tea gardens on mountainside, etc. In a sunny day, we can look a view of Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, I could not see Mt. Fuji.
Fancy sundries of the owner are exhibited in the gallery.
We can stroll on the old Tokaido road “Ishidatami”, where is full of nature such as tea gardens, carol of birds, seasonal flowers and trees, etc. The road is covered by stones, which derives the name of Ishidatami(“Ishi” means stone, and “tatami” means Japanese traditional mat).
